Continuing Ed

With the current economic news continuing on its negative beat, I hope you will find this edition full of hope and useful information to help you not only maintain your sanity, but to actually thrive. "THRIVE!" When was the last time you heard that word used in context of our current conditions. If you are a loyal reader of this newsletter, you know that I often speak about being able to shift perspectives for better insights and creativity. We all need to conscioulsy keep doing that if we are going to thrive.

In this issue, you will find a great article by my friend and colleague, Dr Laurie Nadel about facing your fears. It's a great primer for you to consider with all the doom and gloom you hear in the mass media.

Additionally, Dr Laurie and I have teamed up to produce a series of teleseminars, Transitioning your Thinking For These Transitionary Times: Move From Chaos to Clarity and Control!"  that can help any of you who are struggling mentally and emotionally during these troubling times. We have created a new website (www.whydriveyourselfcrazy.com)  with all kinds of useful information, tips, and audios, as well as a link to our blog - www.whydriveyourselfcrazy.ning.com. We'll be sending out information about some upcoming programs soon. One includes a free teleseminar, "Why Drive Yourself Crazy, When You Can Drive Yourself Sane," on March 21. Details to follow soon.

If you are still working, and your organization has downsized, you are probably facing the "do more with less syndrome." That means there is no better time than now to tune up your reading skills. I'll be doing a live online program on Saturday February 28 at noon EDT. Here's a link you can go to sign up for this free 90 minute learning event: Click Here to Register.

Best Regards,

The Inner Life: How to Think Like Barack Obama

As a teacher of critical thinking skills in the workplace, I can’t help noticing a distinct shift from the Ready-Fire-Aim approach of President Bush to President Obama’s ability to describe his thinking process.   Like the gentle reverberations of a Tibetan bell that is rung at the start of a period of meditation,  the sounds of two words-- “thinking” and “education”-- cascades, like a waterfall of ideas, through the world of concepts and ideas where I prefer to hang out most of the time.
