Year End Resolutions - Clarifying Goals for Achievement The holiday season is a wonderful time for so many reasons. Although many people ramp up to frenzied levels of activity, there hopefully comes a period of relative quiet and reflection. During this season commit to taking conscious control of yourself and build in a period of reflection to review where you are, where you were, and where you want to be. If you take a few moments and think through these simple steps, your chance of goal achievement is vastly improved. The better your ability to communicate your goals to others, the more easily you will be able to enroll the resources you need. Here are some tips for clarifying your goals, and communicating them to others.
Using Metaphorical Perspectives Have you ever worked on a nagging problem and gotten stuck on how to best define it, or even more difficult, how to understand and solve it? Do you ever find yourself having difficulty seeing the forest for the trees in how you think about the problem? Here’s a breakthrough technique that can quickly provide insight.
Music stimulates the whole brain into activity. We know that. But did you know that there have been numerous studies dating back to the 1940s on how certain types of music stimulates the right neo-cortex to enhance learning and creativity? Here is a proven method to enhance your brain’s higher functioning.
As the current year comes to a close, reflection becomes a natural by-product. A fun way to get into this natural cycle is to reflect both forwards and backwards and view our performance as if a Bumblebee. Using this metaphor can help us plan for a more productive year ahead.
