Answer the following questions using a rating scale of 1-10. 10 = high. Be honest with yourself.

 

  1. When faced with a large amount of information for which I am responsible for understanding so that I can make an effective decision, I make it a practice to organize my place of study with the necessary information at my fingertips.
  2. Over the past year, I have read extensively outside my field of my immediate work.
  3. I regularly read extensively in trade magazines and newsletters.
  4. Over the last year, I made and achieved personal learning goals unrelated to my work.
  5. When faced with a learning task, or needing to consume large amounts of information, I know how to adjust my approach based on my goals.
  6. When learning new information, whether reading or listening, I make it a habit to reflect and use the information either by writing about it or talking about it with someone.
  7. I know how to positively motivate myself to learn.
  8. I spend at least 15 minutes a day learning a new field of study outside my usual work responsibilities.
  9. I know how to structure my learning sessions to maximize my time spent.
  10. I know how to focus my mind when reading or listening to learn.
